The next great war may not begin with soldiers crossing borders, but with invisible systems failing silently.

A power grid goes down. Hospitals lose access to data. Ports stop functioning. Payment networks freeze. Cloud infrastructure is hijacked. Algorithms and bots decide what millions see, believe and fear. In the 21st century, sovereignty will not be tested only at borders—it will be tested in the systems that run our lives.

In Power of UncertAInty, cybersecurity expert Anand V. and strategic counsel Srinath Sridharan examine how artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, data, financial systems and supply chains are reshaping power itself. For India, the challenge is urgent: will it build sovereign technological capability, or remain dependent on systems designed, owned and controlled elsewhere?

Anand Venkatanarayanan is a cybersecurity researcher with over three decades of experience advising corporates and at-risk individuals on emerging threats. His multidisciplinary work spans financial modelling, cybercrime and money-laundering networks, information warfare and geopolitics.

Anand is widely recognized for his writing and public commentary on cybersecurity, large-scale frauds, information warfare and digital rights, and for bridging deep technical insight with regulatory, financial and societal perspectives. He is also the author of The Art of Conjuring Alternate Realities, a widely read book on information warfare.

Srinath Sridharan is a strategic counsel with over three decades of experience advising leading corporates, boards and promoters. His work spans leadership and governance transformation, succession planning, business scaling and institutional resilience. He is also a CEO coach.

He is the author of Family and Dhanda, a widely acclaimed book on Indian family businesses, and Life’s 101 Greatest Secrets. His earlier co-authored works include Time for BharatNewsprint to Heartprint and Reimagining ESG. Srinath is a Visiting Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, and writes and speaks extensively on governance, leadership and the intersection of technology, institutions and society.
