Whether you are encountering the Gita for the first time or returning to it with fresh questions, this book offers clarity, guidance and spiritual insight for everyday life.

Because the true power of the Gita lies not only in reading it—but in living it.

Prabhupada Priya Devi Dasi is a dynamic spiritual leader, author and educator with a rare blend of depth, warmth and accessibility. A senior disciple in the ISKCON movement since 1992, she holds advanced scriptural credentials, including Bhakti-Sastri, Bhakti-Vaibhava and Bhakti-Vedanta from premier institutes in Mayapur and Vrindavan, and has spent 19 years living and serving in the sacred dhamas of India. Her life is a testament to devotion: she is not only a scholar and teacher but also a dedicated mother who has raised two Krishna-conscious daughters infusing both home and community with spiritual values.

Currently, she serves as zonal supervisor for Texas, overseeing nine ISKCON centres, and guiding festivals, educational programmes and community development. As director of Krishna House Dallas, she facilitates an innovative, residential bhakti programme that attracts both new and seasoned spiritual seekers, offering immersive kirtans, japa retreats, Gita study circles and pilgrimage yatras.

But beyond her formal roles and credentials, Prabhupada Priya Devi Dasi is known for her personality. Approachable, joyful and fun to be with. She brings positivity, insight and a deeply relatable energy to everything she does. Her natural sociability and great sense of humour make her classes both enlightening and entertaining. Whether she’s walking through the woods on a reflective nature retreat, leading lively kirtans, or answering questions on Zoom with compassion and wit, she makes Krishna consciousness personal, meaningful and enjoyable.

She’s also well-travelled, giving classes and mentoring devotees throughout the US and internationally. Her hobbies include swimming, hiking and exploring sacred places, and she brings these vibrant experiences into her spiritual teaching. Her retreats are known for their depth and soul-searching intimacy, offering participants not just knowledge, but transformational experiences.

Her passion to share spiritual knowledge with others is evident in her classes, Instagram posts, and most of all, her books. Her first book, Rising Above It All: Higher Consciousness, Happier Life, is an introduction to Krishna consciousness, intended for mass distribution. And her latest literary offering, The Living Gita, is a full 700-verse Bhagavad Gita translation and commentary, making profound truths both accessible and compelling. It stands out as the first complete commentary by a female author—a groundbreaking and historic offering that speaks deeply to readers of all backgrounds.
